ARTICLES
Stanisława Borkowska Human Resource Management:
In Search of New Options Among the most important challenges of the turn of the centuries facing Poland is the creation of an indigenous model for managing human resources. HRM models used around the world neither are nor can be static. Poland stands before the necessity of the in-depth reconstruction of its economy. The result of changes should not only be transformation in the labor market, but primarily a stop to social polarization that can most certainly slow full integration with the European Union.

Aleksy Pocztowski Human Resource Management in Poland at the Turn of the Centuries
The article presents current issues in human resources management in Polish enterprises at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. The current state in the area of human resources management is a result of both the past experience and emerging new challenges in the environment. From the practice of some Polish companies - leaders in HRM also presented in this paper - it appears that more and more of them try to redefine their personnel management goals and strategies and undertake an effort to introduce modern tools in human resources management. Also visible is the increase in the professionalism of HRM-managers, consultants and researchers.

Krzysztof Obłój, Marc Weinstein Strategy and Human Resource Management in Polish Enterprises

Research performed in 1998 on a sample of 1,172 companies from four major industries was focused on strategies, structures, and human resource management practice. A main research question addressed could be formulated as follows: What is the impact of the environment, strategies, and strategic capabilities of the company on its ability to implement innovative HRM practices? innovations.

Jarema Batorski - Corporate Learning Ability
The article presents certain ways of understanding a learning organization and it's characteristic features. It also contains the results of a study of twenty-seven Polish enterprises facilitating diagnosis of their learning ability. It has been shown that learning ability is connected with the performance of the enterprise. The study results make possible the drawing of the conclusion that the learning ability of the examined companies tends to be mediocre.
