Aleksy Pocztowski Managing Human Resources in the New Economy

The emergence of the New Economy, with its globalization, information technology, and knowledge, is responsible for many new phenomena-new challenges in the field of human resource management. In facing them, human resource management staff must radically redefine its primary role in the organization; traditional administrator roles must be abandoned in favor of that of business partner striving to lead in value creation.


Marzena Fryczyńska Knowledge Workers - New Challenges in Managing Organizations

Qualitative changes in labor resources are the subject of this article. The appearance of a new category of knowledge workers is a sign of such change. New conditions in the business environment as well as changes in labor resources necessitate new assumptions in terms of management itself and the adapting of appropriate management methods and techniques. The article proposes actions improving the efficiency of knowledge worker management fostering their role as the main creators of the organization's future.


Ewa Masłyk-Musiał Personnel Change Mechanisms

The focus of this paper is about managing change and the role of human resource strategies in this process. It also looks at the question of rewards in implementing change. Among identified strategies are recruitment and selection, performance management, reward management, human resource development, and reducing trade union influence. Human resource development is an inevitable manifestation of organizational change and has the potential to facilitate all HR interventions. Employee involvement is crucial in making change effective. This paper also provides an understanding of the context in which HR strategies may be used to generate and implement change.
