Marcin Marciniszyn The Civil Labor Concept of Ulrich Beck This article presents the concept of civil labor as developed by the well-known German sociologist Urlich Beck. The objective behind civil labor is to create an alternative to paid employment in the form of various types of ventures that foster continued activity outside the labor market without falling into the pitfall of unemployment. Beck strove to create the idea of a post-employment society in which an individual's status is not defined on the basis of paid work being performed, but on the basis of the individual's own input into the life of the local community. Such individual activity within the local community provides the opportunity to evade the stigma of unemployment. It makes possible full participation in social life by a person momentarily deprived of paid employment.

Staniewski The Architecture of Human Resources: Not only for Hard Times Transformations in the architecture of human resources are usually primitive in character, resulting in their demeaning or even destruction. However, observations from economic practice demonstrate a very broad range of possibilities. Hard times do not necessarily mean negative changes in architecture. This article presents various examples that might prove useful for Polish managers as the inspiration for more creative and concentrated activity, activity that makes it possible to maintain the course on the way to success, even in stormy times!
Włodzimierz Świątek The Manager as a Facilitator In the following article, the author attempts to describe the role of the manager-facilitator in the context of contemporary organizations. Basing arguments on one of the most important needs commonly found among employees-i.e. "personal and professional development"the author illustrates the universal usefulness of a professional facilitator in supporting development. Premises discussed in the article are well documented in light of cited scientific research whose detailed descriptions may be found in the wealth of scientific literature.
Aneta Pisarska The Transfer of Training Effects to the Organizational Environment Companies invest significant funds and devote time and energy to employee training and development programs. The purpose of this article is to analyze the tasks and roles that should be implemented by the managerial staff to support the process of training effect transfer by subordinates to the work environment.
Marcin Żemigała A Value System in the Process of Company Operations In order for values adhered to by a company to become factors in its success, they cannot be chaotic and disconnected from the reality in which the company operates. Such empty values can only result in the undermining of the credibility of the company among customers and cynicism among employees, which in no way leads to strengthening market position. Thus, values should form a cohesive value system.
Janusz Czekaj and Bernard Ziębicki Bonuses in Consulting Work This article presents the principles and manner of awarding bonuses to employees active in the consulting field. The introduction gives an overview of typical solutions in the area of employee remuneration in the discussed companies. Also examined are the most frequent errors made in providing consulting employees with bonuses. Principles and criteria are defined for the effective awarding of bonuses in consulting. The final section presents a proposed proprietary system for awarding bonuses to employees in the consulting field.
Zofia Godzwon Reflections on Employee Assessment Employee assessment is vital, but at the same time it is one of the most controversial and conflict prone aspects of management. The purpose of this article is a succinct overview of problems related to employee assessment as well as the calling of attention to certain matters that have an impact on whether the assessment system serves a positive role in the organization or harms it.

Employee Toughness and Resistance 4business&people Sp. z o.o. Ltd., an implementation company, conducted research into psychological toughness and resistance using the Mental Toughness Questionnaire by 48 AQR Ltd. The study contains an exceptionally interesting relation between the psychological toughness and resistance of employees and their position in the organizational structure, describing the difference between the sexes while noting the differentiation between administrative and sales positions.
Agnieszka Maciąg Diagnosis of Employee Value in Molding Organizational Culture
The article presents selected aspects of the process of shaping organizational culture. What was conducted was a diagnosis of human value in the work place on the basis of quantitative studies applying a standard questionnaire, where value at work refers to the future as described by Hofstede. Attention is called to human value systems in specific types of corporate cultures. Also presented is basic information in human behavior and attitudes in the organization.
Maciej Macko Students and Graduates on Today's Labor Market This article discussed the situation facing students and graduates taking up new life roles professional roles. The article is an attempt to respond to the question of how graduates see their chances of finding employment and if students and graduates are properly prepared for submitting their offers to employers.
PORTFOLIO OF METHODS AND TOOLS Beata Chorągwicka The Structured Behavioral Interview: An Alternative to the Conventional InterviewThis article is a summary of key scientific research into qualifying interviews. It particularly focuses on differentiating between the "conventional interview" and the structured behavioral interview as well as on presenting the strengths and weaknesses of each of these methods of personnel selection. The core of the article looks at the psychometric properties of both interview types and compares them in terms of accuracy and reliability. The final part presents conclusions derived from a review of literature involving the application of interviews in recruitment processes.
